A few days without an update...Sorry!
Connor had a ped appt on Friday afternoon where they did a bili check. Unfortunately we received a call late on Friday night from our doctor with the orders to go to the NICU right away because his level drawn earlier that day was 24 (!!!!!)
By the time we got to the NICU an hour later, and another level was drawn, it had creeped up to 25!
Talk about scary. Upon arriving there we talked with the neonatologist, who was laying out some very scary scenarios like exchange transfusion, and possible liver and neurological damage. However the plan became, lots of bili lights, hydration via IV, and IVIG therapy. Originally the plan laid out possibly up to a week in the NICU.
I am happy to report that by 6AM this morning, he was down to 17. And by 6PM tonight, down to 13.7!!!
I spoke with the resident and the plan now is to take down all the bank lights and keep him the bili blanket alone overnight and repeat the bili draw at 6AM tomorrow. IF we have enough of a decrease, its possible that Connor may be able to return home tomorrow!!!! I couldnt ask for better progress!
here is a picture taken of Connor today in the NICU:
